About the Role

We are seeking an EHS Controller to join our Transport & Logistics Team. This role is crucial for supporting local operational management, ensuring compliance of performed activities, assessing and controlling risks, and effectively investigating work-related incidents. You will act on behalf of the Head of Business to rigorously implement EHS policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Policy Implementation & Risk Management: Maintain the local risk register, ensure suitable risk assessments for all work activities, and develop targeted risk-reduction, environmental, and emergency management plans.
  • Incident Investigation & Continuous Improvement: Lead accident investigations and root cause analyses, provide clear improvement recommendations, and monitor management actions for EHS initiatives.
  • EHS Team Collaboration & Reporting: Cooperate with the central EHS team, compile and maintain statutory records, local performance data, and indicators.
  • Local Procedure & System Compliance: Produce and support the implementation of local procedures and systems, ensuring alignment with EHS team requirements. Provide EHS support during the introduction of new plant, equipment, and work methods.
  • Communication & Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate EHS communication through the local management structure and partner with local Trade Union (TU) Safety Representatives.
  • Meetings, Training & Liaison: Facilitate monthly EHS review meetings, attend central EHS steering group meetings, deliver "Toolbox Talk" training, and serve as the primary local point of contact for EHS matters.

What We're Looking For

  • Completion of a NEBOSH Health & Safety certificate or equivalent.
  • Experience in an environmental health and safety role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of applicable legislation, guidance, and best practice.
  • Proven record of working within formal EHS management systems (including ISO14001), with direct experience in risk assessments, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and leading accident investigations.
