About the Role
Airbus Belfast Ltd is seeking an experienced Social Policy & Industrial Relations (SPIR) Business Partner to join its HR team. Reporting to the HR Business Leader for Airbus Belfast and with a dotted line to the Head of SPIR Airbus Commercial UK, this pivotal role ensures the effective development and execution of the company’s Social Policies and Industrial Relations strategy within the Belfast site. You will be responsible for managing HR policy, driving high performance and consistency through key business projects, and providing crucial Employee Relations support to HR Business Partners and Business Managers.
Your Contributions to the Team
- Support the HR Business Leader in Airbus Belfast to achieve company HR objectives.
- Collaborate with the Head of Social Policy and Industrial Relations in the UK to develop and deliver the SPIR strategy, influencing policy to meet the specific requirements of Airbus Belfast Ltd.
- Develop and implement effective Social Policies within Airbus Belfast.
- Lead consultation and negotiation processes with recognised Trade Unions on a wide array of topics.
- Offer expert advice and guidance to internal HR customers and Managers on the correct application of HR policies.
- Assist HR Business Partners with complex case management.
- Contribute to and support the development of HR policy in alignment with business needs and legislative changes, with a particular focus on Northern Ireland.
- Communicate policy changes to all user groups, providing necessary training and support during transitions.
- Liaise closely with Reward Operations and other Centres of Expertise to ensure internal processes facilitate the effective administration and application of UK HR policies.
- Attend specialist Employment Law forums to ensure the HR team remains proactive regarding legislative changes.
- Work in close collaboration with external legal advisors on case management and other SPIR projects.
- Develop Continuous Professional Development opportunities and coordinate relevant upskilling for HR and Managers across Belfast sites.
About You
- Possess relevant employment law knowledge, with a strong desire to expand this expertise, particularly within Northern Ireland employment law.
- Demonstrate proven generalist experience in HR policy and/or procedures, and HR tools.
- Exhibit strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels, both internally and externally.
- Display high-level presentation and influencing skills.
- Have experience in handling complex employee relations issues.
- Be capable of working autonomously and have experience engaging with Trade Unions.
- Show agility in managing both operational activities and leading/contributing to projects.
- Possess excellent organisational and project management skills, with a proactive approach to finding business solutions.
- Strong teamwork, networking, and relationship-building abilities with a diverse range of customers are essential.
- CIPD Qualified.
