General Technical Workshop Instructor
Join Babcock in Chippenham, Wiltshire, and play a vital role in developing the next generation of skilled technicians. As a General Technical Workshop Instructor, you will deliver essential technical training, equipping trainees with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to advance their careers.
This is an engaging and rewarding instructional role where you will be responsible for preparing course content, teaching practical and theory-based modules, and supporting learners throughout their development journey. You will be instrumental in maintaining high training standards, promoting a culture of safety, and contributing to the continuous improvement of the training programme.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and deliver General Technical Workshop training modules, including comprehensive lesson planning and the creation of effective teaching materials.
- Conduct engaging training sessions, leveraging technology-enhanced learning where appropriate to optimize the learning experience.
- Assess trainee progress through a variety of methods, including written examinations, practical assessments, and ongoing evaluation.
- Supervise trainees, ensure adherence to safe working practices, and support learner development through effective coaching and guidance.
- Maintain accurate learner records, essential documentation, and audit-ready files in strict accordance with MOD and Babcock requirements.
This full-time, permanent role is based onsite at MoD Lyneham, with standard working hours of 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
What You'll Bring:
- Essential experience in CNC machining, turning, and milling.
- Supervisory experience is required.
- Proven experience in a relevant working environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook packages (computer literate).
- A manufacturing-related apprenticeship and/or a recognised Level 3 qualification, preferably in CNC machining, turning, and/or milling.
- BSC Level 1 Working Safely certification.
Security Clearance:
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role. Please note that eligibility for certain roles may be affected by your place of birth, nationality, current or former citizenship, and any residency you hold or have held.
