Indirect Tax Analyst
Babcock is seeking a dedicated Indirect Tax Analyst to join our team at Wigmore Street, London, with hybrid working arrangements. In this crucial role, you will contribute to maintaining the financial integrity of a global organisation involved in vital defence, aerospace, and engineering programmes.
As an Indirect Tax Analyst, you will be instrumental in ensuring Babcock meets its indirect tax and compliance obligations. You will work closely with the Indirect Tax Manager and Head of Indirect Tax to drive accuracy, consistency, and continuous improvement in tax processes. Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review value added tax (VAT), Construction Industry Scheme (CIS), and PAYE Settlement Agreement (PSA) returns.
- Ensure all tax returns are completed and submitted accurately and on time across the business.
- Support the development and standardization of tax processes, procedures, and documentation.
- Build relationships across the organisation to embed strong tax compliance and awareness.
- Identify and implement improvements to systems, controls, and tax reporting processes.
This is a full-time, permanent position of 37.5 hours per week, offering hybrid working arrangements with a requirement to attend the office once a month or as project needs dictate.
Essential Experience:
- Demonstrated experience within an indirect tax or tax compliance role.
- Application of knowledge of cross-border indirect tax rules for goods and services.
- Understanding of core financial and accounting principles.
- Ability to analyse data and interpret tax regulations to provide clear insights.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and solve problems in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications:
- Either hold or be working towards/willing to work towards a relevant professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CTA, AAT).
Security Clearance:
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) / Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role. Eligibility may be affected by your place of birth, nationality, current or former citizenship, and residency status.
