Landing Gear System Engineer - Filton

Airbus Protect is seeking a dedicated Landing Gear System Engineer to join our team in Filton. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for the in-service monitoring of one or more aircraft programs, specifically focusing on ATA32 (Landing Gear) occurrences.

You will work collaboratively with a range of Airbus safety stakeholders, including Airworthiness, Design Office, Customer Support, and Chief Engineering. Your key activities will encompass:

  • Reviewing and identifying the severity of in-service events within the fleet.
  • Performing root cause analysis and diligently monitoring incidents.
  • Managing any identified unsafe conditions related to landing gear systems.
  • Presenting your findings and results during reviews with authorities or Airbus internal management.
  • Analysing and monitoring the effective implementation of proposed corrective actions.

You will be accountable for the progress of your activities, ensuring compliance with delivery milestones, and communicating updates to your Project Manager.

Requirements:

  • University degree in Engineering.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Aeronautical or Aerospace Engineering, ideally within Safety and Continued Airworthiness.
  • Proficiency in Safety processes, regulations, and guidelines (e.g., ARP 5150, Part-21A.3, Part-M, CS 25.1309).
  • Strong knowledge of Aircraft Systems, with a focus on Landing Gear and Hydraulic Systems.
  • Demonstrable experience within the Landing Gear perimeter.
  • Proven track record of leading complex projects with multiple stakeholders, delivering on time, within budget, and to the required quality.
  • Excellent project management skills, including Work Package management.
  • A collaborative team player with strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Autonomous, curious, proactive, rigorous, and detail-oriented.
  • Fluent in English (verbal and written).
