Lead SCIDA Engineer - Secure Communications

Join us as a Lead Site Co-ordination and Installation Design Authority (SCIDA) Engineer at Colerne and Hawthorn near Corsham, Wiltshire, and Oakhanger, near Bordon, Hampshire, and play a vital role in supporting one of the United Kingdom’s most critical military satellite communications networks. Working within our Mission Systems business, you will be at the forefront of defence and aerospace engineering, ensuring that our infrastructure is compliant, secure, and built to the highest standards.
As a Lead SCIDA Engineer, you will take a leading role in overseeing complex configuration and installation activities. Your decisions will directly support secure communications essential for national security. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, influence engineering design and delivery, and enhance your expertise in highly regulated, technically advanced environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage configuration control for all engineering installation activities at communication sites.
- Liaise effectively with all internal and external stakeholders regarding proposed configuration changes.
- Oversee the allocation of equipment, room, rack, and floor space, and ensure quality control of all installation work.
- Ensure compliance with appropriate standards, including ISO and JSP.
- Capture, catalogue, and maintain Configuration Management for all ICT projects.
- Conduct quality assessments of ICT projects to ensure installations and changes meet design and required standards.
- Provide final authorisation on project completion through a Certificate of Conformity.
- Ensure suitable CMDB processes are completed to maintain Configuration Management of all hardware and software across the communication estate.
Essential Experience and Qualifications:
- Experience in a SCIDA role within a Defence setting.
- Understanding of security architecture required within compartmented certified environments.
- Experience with ICT systems in complex environments.
- Knowledge of JSP 604, 440, and relevant BS EN standards.
- Proven experience in creating, maintaining, and cataloguing Configuration Management documentation.
- CIDA training or demonstrated experience working in a SCIDA role.

- Working Hours: 37 hours per week
- Travel: Regular travel required between Colerne, Hawthorn, and Oakhanger sites.
Security Clearance:
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance. This role requires the candidate to be a Sole UK National. Please note that many positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions.
