Project Manager - Infrastructure Delivery

Join Babcock at our HMNB Clyde Faslane site and play a crucial role in delivering complex infrastructure that supports national security. As a Project Manager, you will own the delivery of a portfolio of high-value projects from inception to handover, making a direct impact on operational capability and national resilience.

This is a full-time, permanent position offering hybrid working arrangements, with an initial expectation of three to four days on site per week. You'll be part of a dynamic engineering environment, collaborating with industry experts and shaping large-scale programmes that require innovation and precision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver infrastructure projects in line with recognised project lifecycle standards, from concept through to completion.
  • Manage multidisciplinary design teams, contractors, and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate the development of project briefs, technical designs, and tender processes.
  • Oversee contractor performance during delivery to ensure time, cost, and quality targets are met.
  • Lead project governance, risk management, and handover processes.

Essential Experience:

  • Managing construction or engineering infrastructure projects in a complex environment.
  • Applying standard forms of contract such as NEC4 or JCT.
  • Leading design teams across project lifecycle stages (e.g. RIBA Plan of Work).
  • Working with project management tools and methodologies (such as Primavera or Microsoft Project).
  • Controlling project budgets and delivering against financial targets.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum HNC in Construction, Engineering, or a related discipline (civil, electrical, mechanical, or project management).
  • Working towards or holding professional membership (such as RICS, CIOB, or similar).
  • A Project Management qualification (such as APM) is desirable.

Security Clearance:

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role. Eligibility may be affected by place of birth, nationality, current or former citizenship, and residency status.
