Technical Information Services Engineer - Prestwick (Hybrid)
Join BAE Systems and be at the forefront of pioneering progress and protecting what matters most. As a Technical Information Services Engineer, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of technical information and documentation for a major aerospace programme.
This exciting position involves collaborating with customers, industry experts, and cross-functional stakeholders to define and capture requirements. You will develop concepts and strategies for end-to-end Technical Information Management, and shape next-generation digital solutions by incorporating innovative technologies such as Augmented Reality (AR)/Virtual Reality (VR) and cloud-based platforms. Working closely with engineering, digital, procurement, and supply chain teams, you will ensure technical information requirements are seamlessly integrated throughout the programme lifecycle. Your contributions will include producing essential plans, specifications, and delivery strategies to support operations, maintenance, training, upgrades, and comprehensive through-life support.
Core Duties:
- Support the development of concepts, specifications, and philosophies for end-to-end technical information/publications/documentation management, from design organisation to end-user for FCAS.
- Develop use cases and identify technology requirements for a next-generation Technical Information Management solution, including AR/VR technologies and digital/cloud-based infrastructure.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across various programme teams, including Core Platform Design Teams and the Digital Engineering Strategy Team, to integrate Technical Information Management requirements.
- Work closely with Supply Chain & Procurement teams to ensure early communication of through-life technical information requirements to the supply base.
- Support strategies and plans throughout the lifecycle of the technical information management solution, encompassing design, development, authoring, and in-service management.
- Coordinate activities, contribute to programme planning, and ensure the successful delivery of technical information and documentation outputs.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Strong knowledge and practical experience of working within UK Military Aviation Authority (MAA) regulatory frameworks and requirements.
- Excellent understanding of engineering principles and the full product lifecycle, from concept and development through to in-service support.
- Proven experience managing technical information and documentation, with a strong grasp of configuration control processes and best practices.
- Degree-qualified in a relevant STEM discipline, or equivalent experience within a related engineering field.
