About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Data Analyst & Parametric Estimator to support the Independent Cost Evaluation (ICE) team and the Bid Centre. The ICE team provides independent cost and risk analysis for bids/proposals and major programmes, while the Bid Centre offers support and governance to strengthen bid robustness.
This is an exciting opportunity for an analytical professional who enjoys transforming complex data into actionable insights and developing data-driven estimating solutions that support strategic business decisions.
Core Duties
- Gather, cleanse, and analyse historical cost, technical, and programme data to identify trends, correlations, and cost drivers.
- Create dashboards, reports, and visualisations to communicate insights effectively.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives through the application of analytics and automation, and reduce reliance on Excel.
- Collaborate with engineering and bid teams to gather the data required to develop, maintain, and improve parametric estimating models (SEER). Training will be provided.
- Opportunity to become Parametric Estimating lead for the site, ensuring consistency of use across Product Lines and building capability.
- Business Modelling when required.
Essential Skills
- Experience with data analysis and data visualisation tools, and developing automated reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas, data manipulation, and modelling.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills, preferably within defence, aerospace, engineering, or manufacturing environments.
- Ability to work accurately, methodically, and adaptably on large and complex datasets.
- Experience with SQL, Python, AI, or other analytical tools is advantageous.
Qualifications
A qualification or equivalent experience in finance, maths, science, engineering, IT, cost estimating, or business would be advantageous.
