Inventory & Forecasting Planner

This role focuses on the provision of demand forecasting, planning, and optimisation of inventory requirements and usage. You will ensure the supply chain maintains appropriate levels of repairable and consumable assets to meet customer requirements and be responsible for the maintenance and update of inventory forecasting system(s). This involves gathering and analyzing data to aid demand forecasting.

Core Activities:

  • Develop and produce accurate inventory forecasts under supervision to inform strategic decision-making and determine fleet inventory requirements.
  • Collaborate with Fleet Planning, Maintenance Tasking, and other key stakeholders to deliver Continuing Airworthiness standards and contract delivery.
  • Manage inventory under supervision through planning, stock positioning, monitoring item condition, and ensuring product availability.
  • Explore alternative supply sources (RTP, cannibalisation, substitute parts) and determine the most appropriate asset solutions (repair, overhaul, provide spare) to minimize expenditure. This includes providing repair scheduling tasking to repair bay facilities.
  • Plan component integration into maintenance to ensure compliance with the Operator Maintenance Programme, mandated requirements, technical instructions, and capability embodiment programmes.
  • Define and maintain forecasting parameters, including calculation methods and parts classification (ABC Analysis), under supervision. Enact purchase order requests with appropriate and affordable supply chain solutions through an approval process.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Performance Indicators: Provide effective IF&P activities by meeting delivery targets and reporting on impacts to Continuing Airworthiness and operational performance. Understand individual contributions to overall delivery.
  • Completion of Activities: Ensure all IF&P activities are appropriately documented, and airworthiness records are maintained. Compile required reporting, identify issues, and escalate as appropriate.
  • Procedure/Standards: Comply with MAI CAME, associated procedures, standards, and other AM&S or company procedures. Propose changes as required.
  • Safety Management System: Apply Human Factors and Error Management philosophies to all IF&P activities. Understand associated risks and mitigation strategies.
  • Management System Assurance: Ensure IF&P activities comply with the AM&S Governance and Assurance framework, supporting process confirmations and audits. Respond to audit findings and support the implementation of improvements.
  • Statutory/Regulatory & Legislative Requirements: Demonstrate understanding and application of the Continuing Airworthiness Regulatory framework. Support regulatory change implementation and ensure compliance with ITAR, EaPW, ISO, etc.
  • Contractual Requirements: Ensure compliance with applicable contractual requirements, supporting contract reviews and incorporating changes into IF&P processes.

Requirements:

  • Understanding of the Regulatory Framework and its applicability to IF&P processes.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with Customers, Part 145 Organisations, OEMs, Suppliers, and key stakeholders.
  • Operational knowledge of platform contracts, fleet performance, and business key performance metrics.
  • Demonstrate understanding of Reliability Programmes and their impact on the Operator Maintenance Programme and IF&P inventory strategy.
  • Good quantitative and analytical skills/experience, with knowledge of Lean principles.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data with high attention to detail.
  • Good IT literacy and knowledge of asset tracking/ERP systems.
  • Understanding of Project Management techniques.
  • Recognised qualification to NVQ3/Level 3 Award in a relevant discipline is desirable.
