Procurement Leader

About the Role

Join BAE Systems and play a pivotal role in supporting a significant long-term investment programme in the North West. This position requires you to lead critical sourcing and contracting activities, working collaboratively with internal stakeholders and external partners. You will be responsible for developing robust procurement strategies, expertly managing supplier relationships, and ensuring commercially sound outcomes across key construction projects.

Core Duties

• Lead end-to-end sourcing and contracting processes, encompassing tender development, evaluation, and award.
• Develop and implement procurement plans that align with stakeholder requirements and overarching programme objectives.
• Provide essential commercial and supply chain support across delivery programmes.
• Proactively identify and manage risks, issues, and liabilities within procurement and contract strategies.
• Lead supplier negotiations to secure best value and optimal commercial outcomes.
• Ensure the production and maintenance of high-quality procurement and contractual documentation.
• Support the development and implementation of effective supply chain strategies.
• Ensure strict compliance with internal policies and all relevant external regulatory requirements.
• Undertake line management responsibilities.

About You

You will have proven experience in supply chain or procurement, specifically within the construction industry. A detailed understanding of NEC and JCT construction contracts is essential, alongside a solid grasp of procurement strategies, processes, and commercial principles. Experience in managing supplier performance and contractual relationships is key, as is the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at multiple levels. A MCIPS qualification is highly advantageous.

Location and Working Arrangements
