The Role
As an Access Officer, you will be the initial point of contact for all individuals entering the Devonport Royal Dockyard. This customer-facing role is crucial for maintaining secure access to a nationally significant site while ensuring an outstanding customer experience. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide a professional, welcoming, and customer-focused gateway service for Devonport Dockyard.
- Process access applications, passes, permits, and renewals in accordance with Ministry of Defence contractual obligations.
- Manage site access requests for personnel, vehicles, contractors, and VIP visitors.
- Review administrative processes and identify opportunities for improved efficiency and service delivery.
- Contribute to team performance by fostering a positive culture and assisting in the achievement of contractual service targets.
About You:
We are looking for individuals with essential experience in delivering excellent customer service within a busy, customer-facing environment. You should possess a good working knowledge of IT systems and standard office applications, with experience in handling sensitive information accurately and confidentially. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are vital, enabling you to engage professionally with a diverse range of stakeholders. Previous experience in an administrative, security, reception, or access control role would be advantageous.
Security Clearance:
The successful candidate must be a sole UK national and will be required to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this position. Please note that many roles within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions.
