About the Role

As an Aircraft Inspector at MoD Boscombe Down, near Salisbury, Wiltshire, you will play a crucial role in supporting aircraft engineering, flight-line operations, scheduled servicing, and maintenance activities for our aircraft fleet.
You will work collaboratively with Licensed Aircraft Engineers and technical teams to guarantee that aircraft are maintained to the highest standards of safety, quality, and airworthiness. What You'll Do
- Carry out scheduled and corrective maintenance activities across the aircraft fleet.
- Support aircraft handling, flight-line operations, and daily aircraft preparation activities.
- Complete aircraft and equipment maintenance documentation in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct pre-use checks and scheduled maintenance of ground support equipment.
- Provide technical support across other sites and participate in operational detachments when required.
About You
Essential Experience:
- Experience preparing aircraft for flight operations, including aircraft marshalling and fuel/oil replenishment.
- Experience working within a military or civilian Part 145 maintenance environment.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and customer-facing skills.
- Leadership, mentoring, or supervisory experience.
- Good IT literacy and experience maintaining technical records.
Qualifications:
- Recognised Aircraft Apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent qualification in an aerospace discipline.
- Demonstrable practical and theoretical aircraft engineering knowledge.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Military or civilian aircraft engineering experience.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Disclosure and Barring Service Check (DBS) / Counter Terrorist Check (CTC) security clearance for this role.
