This is a unique opportunity to leverage your hands-on expertise and deep knowledge of weapons systems to shape the future of military technicians. You will transition from practical application to educating and mentoring learners across the British Army’s diverse weapons platforms.

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive weapons training, encompassing stripping, assembling, diagnosing faults, and performing maintenance tasks.
  • Develop and update lesson plans, training materials, and practical exercises to reflect current equipment and standards.
  • Assess learners through written tests, practical demonstrations, and ongoing feedback.
  • Review and refresh course content to incorporate evolving engineering practices and safety requirements.
  • Maintain accurate training records and ensure that training environments, equipment, and weapons comply with safety and security standards.

Role Details:

  • This is a full-time, permanent position working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
  • The role is based onsite at Lyneham.

Essential Experience and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a REME Armourer, Royal Navy Weapons Engineer, RAF Armourer, or Police Armourer.
  • Strong craft and technical engineering skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate, encourage, and support learners with patience and empathy.
  • Possession of a Class 1 Armourer qualification.
  • A Level 3 Engineering qualification or substantial experience with weapons/armament systems.
  • Willingness to undertake Level 4 Teacher Training certification (CET) upon commencement of the role.

Security Clearance:

The successful candidate will be required to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance.
