About the Role
As an Assistant Project Manager at Babcock's Devonport Royal Dockyard, you will play a crucial role in delivering civil engineering work packages as part of one of the UK's most significant infrastructure programmes, supporting vital naval operations. You will work closely with experienced Project and Package Managers, coordinating essential activities like planning, cost management, scheduling, and risk assessment.
This is an excellent opportunity to develop your project management career within a highly regulated and complex engineering environment, contributing directly to national defence. The role is full-time, 35 hours per week, and based on-site in Plymouth.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of civil engineering work packages across the programme.
- Coordinate project activities, including planning, cost tracking, and scheduling.
- Assist in defining project scope, requirements, and delivery solutions.
- Manage and support risk and issue processes across work packages.
- Engage with stakeholders and support communication and reporting activities.
Essential Experience
- Experience working within a project delivery or technical environment.
- Understanding of project controls, including planning, cost monitoring, and reporting.
- Knowledge of civil engineering or construction management principles.
- Experience supporting risk management and stakeholder coordination.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
Qualifications
- ONC or OND in civil engineering, construction management, or a related discipline.
- Training in risk assessment or health and safety is desirable.
- Familiarity with NEC contracts or project management systems is desirable.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
