// Role Specification
Surface Coater (m/f/d) Apprenticeship
Surface Coaters are responsible for refining surfaces of diverse materials, including workpieces, components, and constructions. This involves creating hard chrome layers and applying gold or silver coatings to electronic components. You will also be involved in examining electrolytes, monitoring the galvanic plant, and maintaining technical equipment.
What you will learn during your apprenticeship:
- You will learn the fundamental skills of metalworking and finishing.
- You will prepare metals for galvanic coatings.
- You will learn how to apply metals and non-metals chemically and electrolytically, and how to color metals chemically, thermally, or electrochemically.
- The care and maintenance of tools and equipment are also part of your training.
- Analysis of galvanic baths in the analytics laboratory.
- Control and analysis of galvanic wastewater.
Apprenticeship Duration:
Your apprenticeship will last 3 years.
What you should bring:
- Very good secondary school leaving certificate, good intermediate school leaving certificate, or a high school diploma.
- Careful working style; knowledge of chemistry, physics, and technology is advantageous.
- Pronounced understanding of technical and logical connections.
- Good spatial imagination, color vision, and manual dexterity.
