Avionics Project Manager - Spanish NH90 Variant
Airbus Helicopters España is seeking a dedicated Avionics Project Manager to oversee all avionics-related activities for the Spanish NH90 variant. This permanent role is crucial for the successful execution and integration of avionics systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the Avionics Project Manager (APM) for the Spanish variant, addressing all engineering issues related to the avionic system at the variant level.
- Support Chief Engineering (CE) Project Managers in defining and executing avionics projects.
- Establish, track, and maintain project schedules, Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), risk logs, and Earned Value Management (EVM) in alignment with scope, master schedules, and cost constraints.
- Contribute to and prepare the avionics portion of the Development Project Definition (DPD), coordinating with the CE Project Manager System Integration.
- Regularly monitor progress, activities backlog, risks, and opportunities.
- Define avionics qualification logic with relevant stakeholders, including Quality Control (QC), system architects, and NHI.
- Coordinate and monitor the qualification process closely with QC and affected APMs.
- Perform Quality Gates (QG).
- Support configuration management activities.
- Provide avionics configurations at the Hardware/Component (H/C) level for integration and qualification.
- Support the CE Project Manager System Integration and Program Manager, including participation in customer meetings.
- Coordinate sub-tasks with Equipment, System/Software, and other Variant APMs, sharing project schedules, WBS, risk logs, action lists, and EVM data.
- Provide regular reporting to HO Avionic MAS and the CE Project Manager System Integration.
Required Qualifications:
- Academic studies in Aerospace Engineering, Telecommunications, Informatics, Electrical Engineering, or a similar field.
- Comprehensive experience in the design, development, engineering, and/or integration of aircraft systems.
- Previous experience in systems engineering, requirements engineering, and integration within the avionics field is highly beneficial.
- Experience with agile methodologies (Scrum, SAFe) is advantageous.
- Demonstrated team spirit, strong communication skills, and experience in stakeholder management.
- Business fluent or negotiation level proficiency in Spanish and English. Knowledge of German or French is a plus.
This position requires an awareness of potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity. The role will require a security clearance or eligibility for clearance by recognized authorities.
