This exciting opportunity allows you to shape the future of defence supply chains, ensuring the timely delivery of essential equipment, services, and technologies to support national security and cutting-edge capabilities. You'll gain valuable experience in a project-driven environment, with upcoming major programmes offering chances to influence future supply chains and build expertise in defence and engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end procurement activities, from sourcing suppliers through to contract completion.
- Prepare and issue requests for quotation, evaluating supplier responses to recommend best value options.
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, acting as a key point of contact and conducting supplier visits.
- Raise and manage purchase orders, maintaining accurate supply chain data and reporting.
- Support procurement strategy and identify opportunities to improve value, cost, and performance.
This is a full-time, permanent role working 37 hours per week, with hybrid working arrangements offering one day onsite and four days working from home.
Essential Experience:
- Demonstrable experience within a procurement, purchasing, or supply chain role.
- Experience working within defence, manufacturing, engineering, or a similar technical environment.
- Proven ability to manage supplier relationships and procurement processes end-to-end.
- Effective communication skills with internal teams and external suppliers.
- Ability to organise workloads and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications:
- Willingness to work towards membership of a relevant professional body such as the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (Level 4 or above), or an equivalent business-related qualification.
Security Clearance:
