About the Role

Airbus Defence & Space is looking for an Operations Officer and Leader for the Access & Operations Office to join our Industrial and Defence Security department based in Toulouse, France. You will be part of a team dedicated to protecting AIRBUS DEFENCE & SPACE personnel, assets, information, and reputation in Toulouse from any malicious actions.

Reporting directly to the Deputy Security Officer responsible for the Access & Operations Office (BAO), you will be involved in managing the personnel and activities of the BAO, as well as directly executing all missions within the office. These include processing visit requests, managing security investigation returns (CPR or ZRR), implementing physical protection measures, monitoring security-related works, deploying specific protection measures for events/incidents, handling incidents, drafting action plans, supervising security service providers, technical assistance, maintenance of security systems, and more.

Key Challenges

In support of the Deputy Security Officer, your key challenges will include:

  • Leadership and Coordination: Coordinate and lead the daily operations of the Access & Operations Office team, managing daily workloads and prioritizing activities to ensure optimal operational responsiveness for all clients.
  • Operational Performance: Drive activities in line with planned projects while maximizing team agility to respond to operational unforeseen events or incidents, ensuring project delivery within security standards, cost, and time constraints.
  • Innovation & Lean: Sponsor and lead continuous improvement projects and address root causes of anomalies.
  • Field Expertise: As the guarantor of the quality of the Access & Operations Office, master all BAO operations, support staff on complex technical points, and be capable of backing up/reinforcing activities based on workload/absences, particularly in the 'Operations' aspect which requires constant physical presence.

Main Activities

  • Lead daily effective communication within the team, with key interfaces, and report to the Deputy Security Officer.
  • Unify support teams around quality, cost, deadline, and internal/external client satisfaction objectives, embodying the OSA's vision in BAO activities.
  • Organize the office's operational activity and its monitoring using digital tools.
  • Identify and manage risks in BAO activities, ensure stakeholder engagement, and initiate recovery actions if necessary.
  • Anticipate major annual workload sequences and propose action plans to the OSA (end-of-year, major operational arrangements, etc.).
  • Manage Non-Conformities and incidents, analyze root causes using methodology, and propose action plans that may involve MFTs.
  • Provide daily support to operations staff and cover their duties during absences (requiring daily physical presence in HO during business-relevant hours).
  • Cover 'Access' activities (requests, processing, AZRR and CPR follow-up) and 'Security Works' activities (PSA-PSI site monitoring, understanding security model and SGTS, controlling WP16 activities of the security contract: monitoring repair of malfunctioning security equipment) as needed due to absences or workload.
  • Produce activity reports and monitor KPIs.
  • Support the OSA in preparing the BAO's annual action plan, major deadlines, or updates to structuring plans/documents.
  • Support the OSA in preparing the annual budget proposal for Operations.
  • Supervise the contractual quality monitoring of 5 subcontracting companies working for the BAO and ensure adherence to AD processes.
  • Participate in internal/external client meetings representing security and bearing responsibility for security doctrine.
  • Conduct on-site or desk-based checks on adherence to BAO recommendations by internal departments, visitors, and subcontractors.
  • Deliver awareness sessions in French or English using existing materials to staff or internal/external clients.
  • Manage and track sensitive security equipment (held by staff or entrusted to subcontractors): pass-keys, communication devices, plans, etc.
  • Support the OSA in preparing prevention plans.
  • Undertake complementary missions requested by the Deputy Security Officer or Establishment Security Officer as needed.

Your Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (OneNote, Excel - macros, pivot tables, etc., PowerPoint).
  • Project and workload tracking organization (Gantt charts, Scrum, etc.).
  • English (written and spoken) enabling participation in meetings or awareness sessions.
  • Root cause identification and resolution methods.
  • Knowledge of regulations related to the protection of National Defence Secrets.
  • Proficiency with software such as access control, CCTV, THOM’AS, COSWIN, etc.

This position requires obtaining security clearance in accordance with the provisions of the General Interdepartmental Instruction N°1300/SGDSN/PSE/PSD of August 9, 2021, and requires French nationality for the processing of "Spécial France" information (§1.2.2.1 and article R. 2311-4 of the French Defence Code).
