About the Role
As a member of the Commercial team at BAE Systems, you will play a vital role in supporting the maintenance of the T45 platforms as part of the Warship Support team. These projects are high-profile, complex, and fast-paced, fostering a high-performance team culture. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will collaborate closely with other functions and organisations. This is a challenging and exciting role with significant development opportunities.
Core Duties
- Manage commercial registers and the administration of commercial documentation.
- Support the change process by coordinating inputs and preparing proposal documentation, including pricing and contractual information, for internal approval and final submission to the customer for negotiation.
- Approve bids within your delegated authority.
- Provide day-to-day commercial support to Project Teams and other functions. This includes offering contractual and commercial advice, processing payment claims, and producing key reporting inputs, meeting packs, and meeting outcomes.
- Serve as a commercial point of contact for the customer on commercial matters within your scope of responsibility, including attending stakeholder meetings as required.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Experience within a commercial or supply chain role, ideally complemented by a relevant qualification.
- Demonstrated highly effective communication and stakeholder influencing skills.
- Awareness of contracting principles.
- Good financial awareness.
