Airbus Defence & Space is seeking a Contract Manager for Procurement to join their Procurement Contracts team in Space Systems in Ottobrunn. You will be part of a dynamic, transnational, and multicultural team of 30 contract managers, supporting Air Power, Space, and Connected Intelligence Business Lines.
About the Role:
This position is a key focal point for specific projects/programs within Space Systems. You will be instrumental in defining and implementing the Airbus Defence & Space procurement contractual policy and its associated Terms & Conditions. The role involves drafting and revising standard procurement contracts, ensuring integration of economic, commercial, technological, legal, and risk management requirements. You will also provide crucial support and advice during Call for Tenders (CFTs), including approving contractual baselines, assessing bid elements, preparing for and supporting negotiations, and overseeing awards.
Your Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Manage the definition and implementation of the Airbus Defence & Space procurement contractual policy.
- Draft, revise, and negotiate various types of procurement contracts (NDAs, collaboration agreements, goods and services procurement) in collaboration with commodity managers.
- Support and advise on Call for Tenders (CFTs), including contractual baseline approval and bid assessment.
- Prepare and lead contract negotiations.
- Approve and sign contract validation forms (CVF).
- Manage existing contracts, including drafting and negotiating amendments, claims, and settlement agreements.
- Provide contractual analysis and advice in case of disagreements or potential disputes with suppliers.
- Offer specialized support in contract analysis, drafting, design, and negotiations for non-Procurement functions.
- Advise internal stakeholders on contractual implications of internal projects (e.g., IP aspects).
- Develop and deliver training on contracts and negotiations, and coach stakeholders.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- University degree with a legal background and robust contractual knowledge.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in contract negotiations, with exposure to sales, procurement, or commercial environments.
- Native German speaker with professional negotiation-level fluency in English.
- Excellent drafting skills for clear and precise contractual text.
- Open-minded, self-motivated team player comfortable operating at all levels.
- Strong analytical and rigorous approach, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
- Pragmatic approach to balancing contractual and business risks, priorities, and compliance.
- Willingness to undergo security clearance or already possess a Security Clearance.
- Customer-oriented with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
