In this role, you will operate within established frameworks to effectively manage, configure, and design tooling for our Security Operations Centre (SOC). You will be instrumental in addressing new and emerging cyber threats.
Position Responsibilities
- Support the Security Specialist/Manager/Functional Lead in identifying and monitoring specific security risks.
- Continuously identify improvements in tooling and processes to align services with industry and Boeing enterprise best practices.
- Configure and utilize SIEM, vulnerability management, and other security-based tooling.
- Innovate within SIEM and SOC domains to develop best practices.
- Mentor and oversee the development of junior analysts.
- Work to well-defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Support incident response efforts as required.
Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in a Security Operations Centre (SOC).
- Experience working with SIEMs and evaluating SIEM alerts.
- Proficiency in using log aggregation and correlation tools (Splunk preferred).
- Experience interpreting systems, application, and network device logs.
- Experience with packet capture and analysis.
- Experience responding to security alerts and performing data-based investigations.
- Experience in alert rule creation and development (e.g., SNORT, YARA, SIEM).
- Experience in environment threat modeling.
- Experience identifying and handling security incidents.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience researching current threats and vulnerabilities to Information Technology systems.
- Practical threat hunting experience in a high-value information/high threat processing environment dealing with persistent threats.
- Information Security qualification, or Degree-level education in Information Security or a related area.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CREST – Intrusion Analyst, Cyber Threat Intelligence, SANS GNFA, GCIA, GCIH, Comptia Security+, CySA+, Splunk Enterprise Data Administration, or Splunk Enterprise System Administration.
