Experienced Part 21 Electrical/Avionics Engineer

Boeing Global Services – Commercial Modifications Europe team is seeking an Experienced Part 21 Electrical/Avionics Engineer to join our Design Office in Frimley, UK. You will play a key role in supporting major aircraft modification programmes for our global airline partners, focusing on design, certification, and demonstrating compliance with regulatory, customer, and DOH requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Report to the Electrical / Avionics Engineering Manager and collaborate with the global engineering services team across multiple time zones to identify requirements and develop suitable engineering solutions.
  • Lead and contribute to engineering activities and instructions for continued airworthiness, including: wiring diagrams, wire routing and installation drawings, wire harness drawings, Service Bulletins and accomplishment instructions, and aircraft and component manual ICA supplements (wiring diagram manuals, system schematic manuals, and EWIS assessments).
  • Lead and contribute to certification activities to demonstrate compliance with relevant electrical systems airworthiness requirements, including: electrical load analysis, test plans and reports, compliance statements, System Safety, Equipment Qualification and EWIS documents, and Certification Programmes.
  • Review supplier data for integration approval.
  • Act as a Boeing representative during customer and supplier meetings, such as ITCM, PDR, CDR and FAI.
  • Provide on-site support to assist customers during the embodiment phase.
  • Occasional national and/or international travel will be required to visit teammates, customers, and subcontractors.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
  • Current or recent employment within the aerospace industry specifically working with an EASA Part 21J Design Organization (or equivalent) is essential.
  • Minimum 2 years experience within the aviation industry, preferably within a design or production Organisation.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of EASA regulatory and airworthiness requirements including (E)TSO, CS-25, JAR-25 and FAR-25 requirements (relevant to the electrical/avionics discipline).
  • Knowledge and experience of aircraft interior and / or avionic modifications.
  • Experience of large and complex aircraft modification projects (or similar scope projects within the aviation industry).
  • High level of attention to detail and professional integrity.
  • Ability to efficiently and effectively work on multiple programmes with varying levels of requirements.
  • Ability to prioritise workloads and show flexibility to changing situations / demands.
  • Ability to work effectively with colleagues and customers to embody the core values of the business: Honesty, Integrity and Transparency.
  • Willing and able to help develop, mentor and coach less experienced staff.
  • Experience navigating OEM data systems for specifications and standards.
  • Experience using Catia V5, 3DX or AutoCAD.

Work Authorisation
