About the Role

Join BAE Systems as a Production Planner and become a vital part of our growing community. You will play a key role in enabling our manufacturing colleagues to successfully meet customer commitments. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to some of the country's largest projects and work closely with the innovative products we deliver. You will receive support from your Lead Production Planner and the wider management team to excel in your role and develop professionally.

Core Duties

  • Translate ship design and project build plans into production plan activities (Level 3/Level 4), including logic, resourcing, budget, and the embodiment of change.
  • Support the Quarterly Lookahead (QLA) process and plan.
  • Assign and maintain Bill of Materials (BOM) items to appropriate activities in line with build strategy and planning standard procedures, establishing demand for procured and manufactured materials.
  • Support the Project Manager/Control Account Manager (CAM) with weekly targets and performance guidance.
  • Work with Logistics and Manufacturing Shops to ensure material is requested for delivery and is available in sufficient time to support planned activities.
  • Ensure all non-material work orders and work orders for additional work, including agreed quality and safety tasks, are included in the plan.
  • Provide key support and guidance to Integrated Delivery Team members through regular engagement and a visible presence as the ship progresses through all build phases.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Experience using Windchill (PDM), AVEVA ERM (MPR), CMPIC (Cable Management), or equivalent software.
  • Demonstrable manufacturing production experience.
  • Ability to rationalise large volumes of data and articulate issues and their consequences.
  • Experience within engineering/manufacturing industries.
