// Role Specification

About the Role: Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) in Mechanical Engineering (m/f/d)

As a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) graduate in Mechanical Engineering, you will engage in a variety of functions and fields of activity. This interdisciplinary program includes modules in production technology, mechatronics, and design/development. You will prepare demanding projects for the manufacturing, development, and testing of machinery and automation, as well as analyze technical issues in conjunction with economic conditions. The applications span across automotive construction, aircraft construction, and plant engineering.

Specializations:

  • Production Technology
  • Design Technology
  • Mechatronics

The Dual Study Program:

The dual study program, in cooperation with the Duale Hochschule in Heidenheim, offers a comprehensive learning experience. During the initial practical phase, you will acquire fundamental mechanical engineering qualifications. Subsequently, you will be assigned to specific projects in various development or manufacturing areas, familiarizing yourself with the tasks and responsibilities of a mechanical engineer.

From the third semester onwards, you can choose in-depth study paths such as Production Technology, Mechatronics, and Design/Development. In the subsequent practical phases, you will contribute to typical projects in the development, testing, production, and trial of helicopters, or in the manufacturing of doors and gates for commercial Airbus aircraft, thereby gaining valuable experience.

Furthermore, you will gain additional qualifications in areas such as business management thinking, lightweight construction, project management, quality management, and product management. These skills will be consolidated in areas like the development center, helicopter production, flight operations, or the manufacturing of doors and gates for commercial Airbus aircraft.

A significant milestone in your studies will be the Bachelor's thesis, which you will complete within our company at the end of your training.

Throughout your studies, opportunities for assignments at other locations in Germany and an internship abroad are possible.

Program Duration:

The training for the B.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering lasts 3 years. During this time, students spend half of their time at the DHBW Heidenheim and the other half working on projects at the Donauwörth site. Alternatively, there is the option to complete individual practical phases at other locations within the Airbus Group (including abroad).

What We're Looking For:

To pursue a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) degree in Mechanical Engineering, you need a university of applied sciences entrance qualification (Fachhochschulreife), a general higher education entrance qualification (allgemeine Hochschulreife), or a subject-restricted higher education entrance qualification (fachgebundene Hochschulreife) with good grades, particularly in Mathematics and Physics.

You should possess strong technical understanding, logical reasoning skills, and an interest in interdisciplinary connections.

Career Development Opportunities:

Upon completion of your studies, you will graduate as a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.)* (m/f/d) in Mechanical Engineering. With this qualification, you will have the same opportunities as graduates from universities of applied sciences or traditional universities. Bachelors of Engineering (B.Eng.) in Mechanical Engineering undertake diverse and interesting tasks, primarily related to helicopters or the manufacturing of doors and gates for commercial Airbus aircraft. Further deployment possibilities are found in production, sales, or service.

With above-average performance and personal commitment, we will support your further professional career. We offer training courses, project management training, and individual development opportunities tailored to your abilities in specialist and management roles.

This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Company’s success, reputation and sustainable growth.
