As an Industrial Engineer (d/m/w), you are an all-round talent due to your technical and business education, enabling you to work in diverse areas. You will develop, improve, and oversee work and business processes, acting as the crucial link between technical and economic aspects. As an Industrial Engineer (d/m/w), you are therefore an indispensable cooperation partner in the production of our high-quality products.
The Cooperative Study Program
- During the first practical phase, you will acquire the basic qualifications of mechanical engineering. Afterwards, you will be deployed on specific projects in various development or manufacturing areas and get to know the tasks and fields of activity of a mechanical engineer more closely.
- From the third semester onwards, in-depth fields of study such as production technology, mechatronics, and design/development can be chosen. In the subsequent practical phase, you can then participate in typical projects in the development, testing, production, and trial of helicopters or in the manufacturing of doors and gates for commercial Airbus aircraft, thereby gaining experience.
- Furthermore, you will receive additional qualifications in the areas of business administration thinking, lightweight construction, project, quality, and product management, which will be consolidated in areas such as the development center, helicopter production, flight operations, or in the manufacturing of doors and gates for commercial Airbus aircraft.
- An important milestone in your studies is the Bachelor's thesis, which you will complete at our company at the end of your training.
- During your studies, placements at other locations in Germany and an internship abroad are possible.
Study Duration and Structure
The training for a Bachelor of Science (d/m/w) in Industrial Engineering lasts 3 years. During this time, the student spends half the time at DHBW Heidenheim and the other half on projects at the Donauwörth site. Alternatively, there is also the possibility to spend individual practical phases at other locations of the Airbus Group (including abroad).
Requirements
For a study program leading to a Bachelor of Science (d/m/w) in Industrial Engineering, you need a higher education entrance qualification for universities of applied sciences (Fachhochschulreife), general higher education entrance qualification (allgemeine Hochschulreife), or subject-restricted higher education entrance qualification (fachgebundene Hochschulreife) with good grades, especially in mathematics and physics.
You should have a strong technical understanding, logical reasoning skills, and an interest in overarching contexts.
