EEE Parts Project Engineer

A position of EEE Parts Project Engineer is now open at Airbus CRISA (Airbus Defense & Space) in Tres Cantos (Madrid area). The candidate will join the EEE Project Support Team within the EEE Parts, Materials and Processes Quality Assurance Department, working on diverse space business sectors including Launchers, Earth Exploration (Copernicus), Space Exploration (Artemis), and Commercial (Telecommunications Satellites).

Key Responsibilities

Functionally, the candidate will be an integral part of the Project Core Team, acting as the primary technical liaison between the Project Core Team and the EEE Parts, Materials and Processes Team. This includes expertise in EEE Parts, Applications, radiation, printed circuit boards, materials, and processes engineering.

The candidate’s tasks encompass the complete development lifecycle of an electronic equipment, from the initial proposal phase through to the final delivery and acceptance of the flight model.

Tasks & Accountabilities

• Acts as the responsible interface between the EEE, materials, and processes team and internal customers (programmes, operations, design engineering, procurement, quality, and sales) as well as partners within Airbus Crisa and the Airbus Space Products organization.
• Accountable to the internal customer for the selection, demand management (OQOTOC), and usage support of Electronic parts, including technical/quality support to end-customers (Space Agencies and private companies).
• Involves discussions on technical and EEE design topics, product assurance, and quality issues, alongside providing technical support to procurement functions (project supply manager, commodities, and supply quality).
• Accountable for EEE procurement support and validation at Airbus Crisa in accordance with program requirements, including technical/quality support to Airbus Crisa equipment and lower-tier suppliers for sub-assembly procurement.
• Accountable for the end-to-end process of quality support for all EEE-related topics at all levels (parts manufacturers, test houses, and equipment suppliers), from the bid process to project delivery and handling Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
• Accountable for the management of risks and opportunities related to EEE Parts.

Education and Experience

• Engineering or physics degree.
• Specific focus and experience in active and passive components.
• Knowledge and experience within space programs and EEE space standardization systems (MIL, ESCC).
• Good knowledge of EEE device physics, construction, and functionality, along with an understanding of failure modes for passive, active, and optoelectronics components.
• English and Spanish proficiency at a negotiation level.
