About the Role
We are looking for an Electrical Inspector (IPC) responsible for the inspection and electrical testing of in-process and completed products. This includes cable assemblies, wire harnesses, electronic units, and electromechanical assemblies, ensuring they meet customer specifications, engineering drawings, quality standards, and internal procedures through visual inspection, measurement, and functional testing.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform visual and electrical inspections to verify product conformity.
- Conduct tests including continuity, bonding, and resistance measurements.
- Use inspection and test equipment such as Digital Multimeters, ohmmeters, gauges, and measuring tools.
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, work instructions, and inspection checklists.
- Identify, document, and manage non-conforming product in accordance with quality procedures.
- Accept, reject, or recommend rework of products based on inspection results.
- Ensure compliance with IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620, and ESD handling requirements.
- Support both high-volume cable manufacturing and low-volume, bespoke, or investigative work.
- Maintain accurate inspection records and support continuous improvement activities.
Required skills, qualifications and experience
- Knowledge of IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards for cable and wire harness assemblies.
- Understanding of ESD control and handling of sensitive electronic products.
- Experience using electrical measurement equipment, including Digital Multimeters and ohmmeters.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to follow standard operating procedures and work instructions accurately.
- Basic fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Knowledge of IPC-A-610 standards for electronic assemblies.
- Experience with ATE programming and testing.
- Experience using SAP or similar ERP systems.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Continuous improvement mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
