Electrical Instructor - Chippenham, Wiltshire

As an Electrical Instructor, you will be instrumental in delivering and developing high-quality electrical engineering training for military trainees. You will be part of our Land Training business unit, supporting the Electro Mechanical Training Contract (EMTC). Your contributions will directly bolster Babcock’s esteemed reputation in defence education and strengthen the long-term capability of the armed forces.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and deliver engaging electrical training sessions utilizing modern teaching methodologies and technologies.
  • Monitor trainee development closely, offering constructive feedback, essential support, and remedial instruction.
  • Evaluate trainee progress through comprehensive written and practical assessments.
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, compliance standards, and maintain equipment accountability within the training environment.
  • Continuously update and maintain course materials to align with current equipment and evolving industry standards.

This role is based onsite at MOD Lyneham, with set working hours of Monday to Friday, totaling 37 hours per week.

Essential Experience:

  • Supervisory experience within a technical or engineering setting.
  • Hands-on experience with electromechanical equipment.
  • Demonstrated experience in a relevant working environment.
  • Solid understanding of power generation and distribution systems, including single-phase and three-phase configurations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook.

Qualifications:

  • HND in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g., general electronics and electrical systems).

Security Clearance:

The successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this position. Please note that eligibility for certain roles may be impacted by factors such as place of birth, nationality, current or former citizenship, and residency status due to national security and Trade Control restrictions.
