The Role: Junior Buyer

Leonardo is seeking a motivated Junior Buyer to join our Procurement & Supply Chain team at our Cascina Costa (VA) office. This role is integral to ensuring the efficient and effective procurement of goods and services, components, and materials, all while adhering to timelines, budgets, and technical specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage procurement processes in alignment with current strategies and operational plans.
  • Oversee operational purchasing for assigned product categories, including monitoring requisitions and issuing orders.
  • Manage program procurement within Integrated Project Teams (IPTs).
  • Collect technical and commercial requirements to facilitate supplier selection.
  • Prepare necessary documentation, manage supplier qualifications, and conduct RFx processes.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to achieve optimal value and favorable commercial terms.
  • Contribute to the negotiation of prices and contract terms (T&Cs), and oversee the finalization of procurement contracts.
  • Automate the emission of purchase orders for predetermined, existing contracts.
  • Manage changes, renewals, and terminations of existing contracts.
  • Process Purchase Requisitions, verifying completeness before transforming them into Purchase Orders.
  • Utilize technology to automate orders against blanket POs, track PO status, and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Issue purchase orders in accordance with internal customer requirements.

Requirements:

  • Junior level: 1–3 years of experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or Management Engineering.
  • Good command of the English language (written and spoken).
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to effectively manage supplier relationships.
