As an Emergency Planner at our Rosyth site, you will play a vital role in safeguarding people, assets, and critical infrastructure within a highly regulated nuclear and defence environment. This is an exciting opportunity to support the development and delivery of emergency preparedness strategies, ensuring readiness for complex scenarios that are critical to national security.

What You'll Do

  • Deliver emergency response exercises, including planning and coordinating large-scale demonstration events with regulators and emergency services.
  • Support the management and training of the Nuclear Emergency Response Organisation, ensuring operational readiness.
  • Maintain emergency plans, systems, and response facilities to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external agencies to strengthen emergency preparedness across the site.
  • Advise on emergency response and resilience activities within a nuclear and defence environment.

What You'll Bring

Essential experience includes:

  • Recent experience in an emergency planning or emergency response environment.
  • Application of knowledge within a regulatory or compliance-driven setting.
  • Implementation or advice on emergency arrangements and command-and-control frameworks.
  • Understanding of resilience, compliance, and emergency management principles.
  • Confident use of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).

The Nuclear Accident Procedures Course (NAPC) is desirable but not essential.

Location & Working Hours

This role is full-time, 36 hours per week, Monday to Thursday, and is based on site at Rosyth, Fife. Hybrid working arrangements may be available where business needs allow.

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role. Eligibility may be affected by factors such as place of birth, nationality, current or former citizenship, and residency.
