Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Engineer to join the AHE Airworthiness & Configuration Department at Airbus Helicopters España. You will be responsible for defining specifications for EMC design directives related to aircraft equipment installation and structural protection. This role is crucial for ensuring the EMC/HIRF/LIE/LDE and ESD qualification requirements are met at both equipment and system levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Write specifications for EMC design directives for aircraft equipment installation and structural protection.
- Define EMC, HIRF, LIE, LDE, and ESD qualification requirements for equipment and systems.
- Provide support to system designers and follow up on qualification processes.
- Revise EMC testing results based on International Standards (civil and military), focusing on Susceptibility and Emission Tests, and validate test outcomes.
- Assist equipment manufacturers in resolving non-compliance issues, proposing technical improvements, and validating deviations.
- Collaborate with manufacturing departments to develop Electromagnetic Hazard (EMH) protection for electrical harnesses against EMI.
- Support airframe designers in implementing metallization and electrical bonding structural protection techniques.
EMC Testing Support
- Prepare test plans and results for aircraft-level testing, including intrasystem testing.
- Support the interpretation and analysis of test results to determine HIRF/LIE transfer functions.
- Aid in the EMC certification process (civil and military) to ensure compliance with design requirements at equipment and aircraft levels, meeting regulatory and customer qualification needs.
- Contribute to the definition of certification plans and propose Means of Compliance.
Factory Assembly Line (FAL) Support
- Specify Electrical Bonding General Technical Requirements (GTRs) for application at FAL in primary and secondary bonding.
- Assist in resolving non-compliance issues, proposing technical improvements, and validating deviations.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Master's Degree or equivalent in Aeronautical/Aerospace/Telecommunications/Electronic Engineering.
- Required experience in EMI/EMC and/or lightning protection (military or civil).
- Demonstrable knowledge of EMI/EMC and lightning protection methods.
- Essential soft skills for the position.
- Mother tongue or proficiency in Spanish.
- Fluent English language skills.
- Advanced user level of Microsoft Office Package.
- Awareness of potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity.
