About the Role

As an Engineering Project Manager at Babcock's Technology Centre in Stoke Gifford, Bristol, you will play a vital role in maintaining the safety, availability, and capability of the Royal Navy's submarine platforms. This is a dynamic and impactful position where you will manage complex engineering data, develop innovative solutions, and influence design authority decisions to enhance maintenance efficiency.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include delivering submarine platforms throughout their defined life extension and commission extension periods, contributing to the overall submarine programme for the Royal Navy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver allocated projects within defined time, cost, and quality constraints.
  • Lead and coordinate departmental resources within your project scope.
  • Liaise effectively with internal and external engineering teams to achieve project outcomes.
  • Apply and develop robust engineering management arrangements.
  • Review project outputs and present findings to customers.

What We're Looking For

  • Extensive knowledge of engineering systems and in-service support.
  • Proven success in developing and applying engineering management arrangements.
  • Experience managing engineering outputs and technical teams.
  • Strong communication skills, effective across all stakeholder levels.
  • Excellent time management and a proactive approach to meeting deadlines.

Qualifications

  • A degree in engineering or technology, or an equivalent technical qualification (e.g., HND/HNC, vocational engineering qualification, or relevant apprenticeship).
  • A Project Fundamentals Qualification such as APM, Acoste, or RICS, or a willingness to undertake training provided by Babcock.

Working Arrangements

This is a full-time, permanent role working 35 hours per week. We offer hybrid working arrangements, with 2 days spent in the office/onsite and 3 days working from home.

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be a sole UK national and will be required to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role. Please note that many positions within Babcock are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions.
