Equipment Maintenance Specialist

Join BAE Systems at the Maritime Integration & Support Centre (MISC) located at Portsdown Technology Park (PTP) as an Equipment Maintenance Specialist. You will play a vital role in ensuring the optimal performance and readiness of a wide range of multi-layered combat systems equipment. This position offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge defence technology within a supportive and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake preventative and corrective maintenance activities on combat systems equipment, including RADARs, sensors, electro-optical devices, associated ancillary equipment, and data cabinets.
  • Ensure mandatory and statutory maintenance and electrical safety testing are planned and conducted in a timely manner to an extremely high engineering standard.
  • Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date service records for all equipment and infrastructure.
  • Be accountable for guiding and completing preventative maintenance, upholding safety, compliance, and engineering standards.
  • Conduct Permit to Work (PTW) operations as an Authorised Person across RadHaz, laser safety, power distribution, and infrastructure.
  • Undertake installation and testing of Ethernet, fiber optic, and mains electrical cabling in line with 18th Edition and IET BS:7671 standards, producing accurate certification.
  • Be responsible for supporting infrastructure, such as electrical distribution systems within server rooms and equipment racks.

What We're Looking For:

  • Proficient knowledge and practical experience in maintaining Naval Combat Systems Equipment.
  • An HNC or HND in a relevant engineering, technology, or science discipline.

Location: Portsdown Technology Park, on site

Salary: up to £50000 depending on skills and experience
