Airbus Helicopters is looking for a Systems Design Engineer - Engine Control and Monitoring H140 (m/f) to join the Powerplant Engineering department based in Marignane, France.

You will have a unique professional experience at the heart of our helicopter manufacturing.

Your Future Missions:

As part of our team, you will participate in cutting-edge missions where the propulsion system is vital for the overall performance of our aircraft. You will contribute to the Powerplant Engineering department (40 people in the R&D Design Office), responsible for engine integration, performance, fire protection, and power systems installation.

As a System Design Manager (SDR) and technical focal point for the project, you will lead the integration and control activities related to the H140 engine development, in direct interface with the engine manufacturer and internal teams (Chief Engineer, flight testing, avionics, production).

Your main missions will include:

  • System Control Specifications: Define and draft control system specifications for the engine manufacturer, applying design rules, lessons learned, and the strict requirements of ARP 4754.
  • Engine Monitoring: Define engine monitoring principles in accordance with official regulations and in close collaboration with experimental flight test crews.
  • Electrical Design and Integration: Define the electrical design for the functional and physical integration of the engine within the aircraft.
  • Testing and V&V: Draft and execute integration test plans on test benches, in accordance with Systems Engineering methods (notably ARP 4754).
  • Flight Testing & Certification: Draft Flight Test Orders, support flight campaigns, and assist with regulatory certification activities.
  • Technical Referent: Act as the single technical focal point for your scope and lead activities across Airbus Helicopters, while participating in technical knowledge capitalization and the evolution of the professional standard.

Your Profile:

  • Experience: You have at least 4 years of confirmed experience in a similar role in propulsion system engineering.
  • Technical Expertise: Solid knowledge in automation, electrical integration, turboshaft thermodynamics, and systems engineering (ARP 4754). Knowledge of Airworthiness regulations and hybrid propulsion is a significant asset. Proficiency in Matlab/Simulink and DOORS tools is a plus.
  • Languages: Fluent English (negotiation level) is essential for leading activities in a multicultural and transnational environment.
  • Soft Skills: Rigor, proactivity, autonomy, and excellent teamwork skills. Your communication abilities allow you to produce and share clear summaries with your multiple interfaces.

Occasional professional travel is to be expected in France and Europe.
