Airbus Helicopters is seeking an Advanced Safety and Reliability Engineer (f/h) to join the Safety, Reliability and Environment department based in Marignane, France. Join us to shape the future of aeronautics and contribute to protecting lives during missions accomplished with our helicopters.

The Marignane site, the 3rd largest industrial site in France, located near Marseille and Aix-en-Provence, is undergoing significant transformation to offer a high-tech, inclusive, and environmentally friendly work environment. You will experience a unique professional journey at the heart of our helicopter manufacturing.

Your Future Missions:

By joining our team, you will participate in various missions all oriented towards excellence in safety and the operational availability of our aircraft. Together, we will contribute to the activity of the Safety, Reliability and Environment department, where you will lead and manage safety performance for complex helicopter parameters, supporting the continuous development of our products.

You will support design modification and architecture choices, and provide operational recommendations to ensure our aircraft remain an absolute benchmark for our clients.

Your main missions will be:

  • Team Coordination: Coordinate a team of internal and external safety engineers on assigned modifications or sub-programs, and manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Technical Coaching: Act as an operational coach for more junior team members to assist them in developing their technical skills.
  • Certifications Interface: Prepare, present, and defend safety arguments before official certification authorities (EASA, OCCAR, NAHEMA...) to facilitate modification approval.
  • Influence on Design: Guide design architectures and system installation options to mitigate cascading failures, fire risks, or bird strike impacts.
  • Partner Management: Challenge equipment suppliers to ensure optimal design meeting our rigorous requirements, and interact with stakeholders to converge on complex technical compromises.

Your Profile:

  • Education: Master's degree (or equivalent engineering degree) in aeronautics.
  • Experience: More than 5 years of experience, preferably in safety and reliability engineering.
  • Technical Expertise: Solid knowledge in helicopter/system design or architecture. Proficiency in analyses such as Functional Hazard Analysis (FHA), System Safety Analysis (SSA), specific risks, and zone safety assessments. Proven ability to coach, guide, or coordinate other engineers.
  • Languages: English (negotiation / fluent level) is essential for relations with certification authorities and transnational teams. French is required daily.
  • Soft skills: Strong interpersonal skills, initiative, highly synthetic and structured technical approach, autonomy, and curiosity to tackle profoundly complex regulatory and technical subjects.

3 Reasons to Join Us:
