Fabrication Supervisor - HMNB Clyde Faslane

Join Babcock at our HMNB Clyde Faslane site and play a vital role in creating a safe and secure world as a Fabrication Supervisor. This is an out-of-the-ordinary role where you will lead complex engineering work that keeps the nation safe.

About the Role

As a Fabrication Supervisor within our Nuclear Repair team, you will lead and manage engineering work packages. Your focus will be on the safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of Fleet Engineering activities. You will coordinate multiple work streams across vessels, ensuring all safety, cost, schedule, and quality requirements are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate the delivery of engineering work packages across fleet assets.
  • Plan, sequence, and schedule tasks to ensure safe, efficient delivery with minimal conflict.
  • Manage teams and subcontractors, ensuring capability, performance, and compliance.
  • Promote safety, quality, and environmental standards, embedding safe systems of work.
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships, reporting progress and driving continuous improvement.

Please note: This position involves working at height. Candidates must be able to work safely and perform tasks at varying heights.

  • Location: Helensburgh, Argyll and Bute
  • Role Type: Full time / Permanent
  • Hours: 36 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 07:15 – 16:45

Essential Experience and Qualifications

  • Supervisory experience within an engineering or industrial environment.
  • Experience working in a highly regulated industry (e.g., nuclear, defence, marine, heavy engineering).
  • Strong knowledge and application of safe systems of work.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders in a dynamic operational setting.
  • Capability to work safely at heights where required.
  • HNC in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent trade experience and technical knowledge.
  • ILM Level 3 or similar leadership qualification (advantageous but not essential).

Security Clearance
