Flight Line & Maintenance Engineer

Airbus Defence & Space in Getafe (Madrid) is seeking a Flight Line & Maintenance Engineer to join their Flight Line Centre, working in a double shift pattern.

Responsibilities

The jobholder will be responsible for the implementation of A330 MRTT delivery and base & line maintenance activities within their scope. Key tasks include:

  • Managing the multifunctional team assigned to an aircraft, integrating functions like Production, Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, Planning & Production Control, and Supply Chain, as well as assigned resources (human, infrastructure, tooling, GSEs, industrial means).
  • Ensuring coordination with other organizations.
  • Being responsible for the aircraft under their perimeter.
  • Acting as the Security & Safety Officer in their area of responsibility.
  • Responsible for the execution of Mid-Term and Short-Term Planning for the aircraft.
  • Serving as a point of reference for team engagement, energy, values, and ethics & compliance.
  • Coordinating subcontracted activities on aircraft under their responsibility.
  • Evaluating Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins, and other relevant documents.
  • Ensuring continuous improvement and Operational Excellence in the area.
  • Monitoring relevant KPIs, resolving deviations from targets, and identifying major industrial risks.
  • Ensuring accomplishment of Quality, Health and Safety, FOD, and House Keeping standards in the aircraft and area.

Skills and Experience

Candidates should possess:

  • Experience with A330 / green aircraft conversion into an A330 MRTT.
  • Experience in aircraft delivery to Flight Ops and final customer, including A/C preparation and documentation, TLB and QLB management, operational safety rules, and quality and maintenance regulations.
  • Experience in A330 MRTT aircraft line and base maintenance, including A/C preparation/dispatch for flight, discrepancy fixing, handling and servicing, analysis, schedule and accomplishment of maintenance work packages (manpower, materials, tools).
  • Experience in organization and supervision of production groups, including supporting functions. Implementation of continuous improvement methods to reduce costs and lead time. Specific knowledge in the management and resolution of conflicts.
  • Experience in subcontracting services and operations (mechanical, electrical, sealant application, complete aircraft painting and maintenance works in flight line) in MRTT.
  • Experience managing all qualifications of personnel and facilities required by Airworthiness Authorities (civil and military).

Qualifications

  • Educated to degree level (or equivalent) in Aeronautical Engineering.
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in Operations and Team Management.
  • Advanced level proficiency in both English and Spanish.
  • Mandatory knowledge of Manufacturing, Engineering, and Business.
  • Familiarity with Innovation, digitalization, and continuous improvement methodologies.
