General Engineering Bay Supervisor

This role is within our Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) organisation, supporting key programmes. You will be responsible for ensuring adherence to established processes, accurate and timely work recording, and maintaining contractual and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, with the ability to distribute and sequence technical work requirements, manage demanding workloads, and deliver to a high standard while maintaining schedule. You must be capable of understanding and interpreting technical documents, drawings, and associated publications. A working knowledge of MAA Regulatory Articles (RA), MAA Regulatory Publication (MRP) Part 145, Aviation Quality Assurance (QA), and Safety Management Systems (SMS) is essential, along with understanding their application within your area of responsibility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver off-wing support to aircraft maintenance under Boeing’s MAA MRP Part 145 approval or the MOD customer’s approval.
  • Be a flexible and proactive team member within the Boeing Vertical Lift, Apache MRO team.
  • Provide supervision to the General Engineering Bay team at Wattisham.
  • Ensure aircraft and components are delivered on time to the customer through flexibility in work locations and times.
  • Offer advice, guidance, and mentoring to peers and others as appropriate.
  • Mitigate immediate risks and escalate emerging risks, issues, and shortfalls promptly.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide 100% oversight of work carried out by Boeing Apprentices or Trainees, including mentoring.
  • Contribute positively to an open and honest reporting culture.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Fluent written and spoken English.

Experience Preferred:

  • Recognised relevant trade apprenticeship or equivalent trade training.
  • Knowledge of general aircraft maintenance and processes (Human Factors, FOD control, tool control, health & safety & COSHH).
  • Experience in sheet metal and/or structural repairs.
  • Experience using milling equipment and lathe would be advantageous.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite.
  • Effective team member displaying appropriate behaviours including Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion.

This position requires the ability to obtain a UK security clearance (SC) for which UK residency is required.
