About the Role
As a Ground Clearance Officer at QinetiQ's Hebrides site, you will be responsible for consolidating the Land Clearance status within the land danger area. You will play a key role in ensuring the efficient, safe, secure, and legal operational output in accordance with approved Trials Conduct Documentation, supporting the Trials Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the Range Safety Team and manage Land Clearance activities.
- Support projects by facilitating testing and integration for newly introduced or deployed equipment.
- Ensure compliance with the requirements and restrictions detailed in safety procedures.
- Have the authority to stop trials if there are any concerns regarding safety.
- Assist the Trials Manager in ensuring Trials Delivery complies with Health & Safety, Security, and Accreditation standards.
- Aid the Trials Manager with the identification, implementation, and refinement of processes and procedures associated with Trials Delivery.
Essential Experience and Skills
- Good knowledge of Health & Safety, Governance, and Security.
- Professional attitude with experience supporting both internal and external customers.
- Strength of character to uphold QinetiQ values under operational pressure.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Excellent spatial awareness.
- IT Literate.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable Qualifications
- NEBOSH/IOSH qualification.
- Marine Radio Licence.
Location and Working Hours
This role is based at our Hebrides (South Uist) site, working 37 hours per week. A minimum average site attendance of three days per week is required, with some travel to other sites expected.
Security Clearance
Applicants must be eligible for SC clearance as a minimum.
