Critical Care Nurse - Hyperbaric Environment
QinetiQ is at the forefront of creating tomorrow's defence technology. We are seeking a dedicated Critical Care Nurse to join our Centre for Defence Diving and Hyperbaric Medicine (CDDHM) at our Chichester, West Sussex site.
In this unique role, you will be part of a multi-disciplinary team at St Richard's Hospital, ensuring the delivery of safe and high-quality patient care within a hyperbaric environment. You will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology alongside brilliant minds.
Your Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive patient-centred nursing care, including assessment, planning, and evaluation for military and NHS patients.
- Monitor patients' conditions diligently and maintain accurate clinical records.
- Participate actively in audits, clinical governance, and continuous professional development initiatives.
- Support the training and induction of new staff and students.
- Maintain personal competency and fitness for working within the hyperbaric chamber.
- Undertake on-call duties, which may involve UK and overseas travel.
What We're Looking For:
- A Registered Nurse with recent intensive care or critical care experience.
- Strong clinical assessment and patient monitoring skills.
- Proven ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Knowledge of NHS clinical governance and best practice standards.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- The ability to remain calm, adaptable, and effective in high-pressure clinical situations.
Essential Qualifications:
- Full NMC registration.
- A Nursing Degree or Diploma.
- A Postgraduate qualification in Intensive Care Nursing or Critical Care Nursing.

This is a 37-hour per week position based in Chichester, West Sussex. Travel to other QinetiQ and customer sites may be required, and on-call duties are a component of this role.
