About the Role
Babcock is seeking an Information Security Advisor to join their Mission Systems team near Bristol, Gloucestershire. This is a permanent, full-time position where you will play a crucial role in protecting national capabilities by strengthening information security practices. Key Responsibilities
- Support the ongoing alignment of the Information Security Management System and ISO 27001 certification requirements.
- Lead on coordinating, managing, and running the internal audit programme in support of the Information Security Management System.
- Track audit findings and drive timely follow-up actions and remediation activities.
- Assist with security training, education, and awareness initiatives across the business.
- Provide guidance on information security risks, policies, documentation, and Information Asset Owner responsibilities.
About You
The ideal candidate will have experience working within an information security, governance, risk, compliance, or IT environment. You should possess exposure to structured governance frameworks such as ISO 27001 or similar compliance standards, coupled with a solid understanding of core information security principles, including risk awareness and data handling practices.
Essential skills include experience maintaining accurate records, documentation, and compliance-related information, along with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. While relevant professional certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CISMP, ISO27001 foundation) are advantageous, they are not essential.
Working Arrangements
This role operates on a 37-hour week and is based at Babcock's Ashton Vale, Bristol site. Hybrid working patterns are available, and some travel to other Babcock sites may be required.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) and Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
