Information Security Lead
At Babcock, we are committed to creating a safe and secure world. We are seeking an Information Security Lead to join our team at the Devonport Royal Dockyard site in Plymouth, Devon. In this crucial role, you will be instrumental in safeguarding critical infrastructure and major defence programmes, particularly within the Defence Nuclear Enterprise.
As an Information Security Lead, you will be responsible for delivering robust information security assurance, ensuring the security and compliance of systems, data, and operations. You will work collaboratively with technical specialists, programme teams, and external stakeholders to manage risks, provide assurance, and embed strong security practices.

Key Responsibilities:
- Leading information security assurance across multiple major infrastructure projects.
- Developing and maintaining assurance plans aligned with recognised frameworks.
- Managing security risks, controls, and evidence to support compliance.
- Engaging with stakeholders, including Ministry of Defence representatives, on assurance activities.
- Supporting audits, bids, and ongoing security improvement initiatives.
Essential Experience:
- Proven experience in information security assurance within regulated or defence environments.
- Strong understanding of UK security standards, including government and defence frameworks.
- Experience producing security documentation and assurance artefacts.
- Ability to manage and mitigate risks in complex environments.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage a range of stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Relevant professional experience in information security, risk management, or cyber security.
- Certifications such as Certified Information Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), or ISO 27001 Lead Auditor/Implementer are desirable.
This role is full-time, 35 hours per week, and permanent, based at Devonport Royal Dockyard.
