As an Instructional Systems Designer (ISD), you will be responsible for the systematic analysis, design, and development of training solutions essential for formal training delivery. You will utilize an analytical approach grounded in a detailed understanding of how individuals learn, employing various tools and technologies for effective knowledge transfer, skill attainment, and attitude development, while addressing specific instructor needs.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Conducting analysis to evaluate customer technical training needs, determining appropriate content, objectives, and courseware design methodologies.
  • Designing, developing, and evaluating custom technical training courseware, assessments, and assurance artefacts.
  • Collaborating closely with technical SMEs to ensure highly technical and complex content is accurately targeted to the audience's needs.
  • Providing training services that meet the highest technical and quality standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies, embracing first-time quality.
  • Identifying and correcting conditions and behaviours that affect safety, upholding safety standards, and demonstrating proactive safety culture leadership.
  • Gathering data for proposals and assisting with the preparation and presentation of reports on training projects and curricula.
  • Coaching, mentoring, and developing others, providing instruction in ISD principles, methodologies, and tasks.
  • Discovering new opportunities and solutions through innovative thinking to determine new instructional strategies, methods, technologies, and tools.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in the analysis, design, development, or assurance of custom instructor-led and distance learning courseware outputs, preferably within aerospace, energy, transport, or manufacturing.
  • A sound knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design, and methods of evaluation.
  • General knowledge of and experience in applying a standardised Systems Approach to Training (SAT).
  • A full UK driving licence and ability to travel to various industry and customer sites throughout the UK.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a UK security clearance (Security Check).

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Experience with Adobe Storyline 360.
  • Experience with Learning and Content Management Systems (LCMS).
