As an Internal Quality Assurer, you will play a vital role in maintaining the quality, consistency, and compliance of our apprenticeship and training programmes. This is an exciting opportunity to influence training excellence across a large and diverse apprenticeship provision, helping to develop the next generation of skilled engineering professionals supporting the UK's defence sector.
The Role
Working closely with delivery teams, you'll help drive continuous improvement, support learner success, and ensure assessment and teaching standards meet awarding organisation, funding, regulatory, and inspection requirements.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Conducting quality assurance activities across apprenticeship and training programmes.
- Observing teaching, learning and assessment sessions and providing constructive feedback to delivery staff.
- Producing and managing sampling plans based on risk, compliance and quality requirements.
- Supporting assessors and trainers through coaching, mentoring and continuous improvement activities.
- Leading standardisation activities and promoting best practice across the wider team.
Requirements:
Essential Experience:
- Experience working as an Internal Quality Assurer within apprenticeship or work-based learning environments.
- Experience within a mechanical engineering or related engineering environment.
- Strong understanding of apprenticeship delivery and work-based learning programmes.
- Experience monitoring quality standards, compliance requirements and learner outcomes.
- Ability to build effective relationships and provide professional support to delivery teams.
Qualifications:
- Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (or equivalent).
- Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (or equivalent).
- Level 3 qualification in Engineering or a related discipline.
Working Arrangements:
This is a full-time, permanent role working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The role offers hybrid working arrangements and will involve travel to apprenticeship sites across the South of England.
Security Clearance:
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
