MQ-9B (UK Protector RG1) Instructor Pilot at RAF Waddington
We are seeking experienced pilots to join our team as MQ-9B Instructor Pilots at RAF Waddington, Lincolnshire. This role is crucial in delivering advanced training for the UK Protector RG1 aircraft.
We anticipate a significant growth in contractor flight crews over the next five years, with roles expected to commence mid to late 2026 (subject to change). We welcome applications from suitable candidates interested in this exciting opportunity.
Key Requirements:
- Minimum of 500+ hours military flying experience (crewed and uncrewed).
- Hold a recognized pilot instructor qualification.
- Previous experience holding an instrument rating.
- Familiarity with Medium Altitude Long Endurance (MALE) RPAS operations, including MQ-1, MQ-9A, MQ-9B, or similar platforms.
Conversion training on the MQ-9B will be provided if necessary. Upon qualification, you will be responsible for instructing crews on the operation and flight of the MQ-9B aircraft.
The standard working week is Monday to Friday, 40 hours, adhering to the UK Working Time Directive. Some shift work will be required to ensure operational effectiveness. There may also be a requirement for overseas deployments to support NATO alliance partners with MQ-9B training initiatives.
Employment is contingent upon passing a CAA/FAA Class 1 Medical or an equivalent European Aviation Safety Authority medical. A relocation package is available to assist non-UK individuals moving to the UK.
