The Role
Inzpire is looking for experienced Sensor Operators / Weapons Systems Officers (or equivalent) to join us as MQ-9B (UK Protector RG1) Instructor Sensor Operators. This exciting role will be based at RAF Waddington, Lincolnshire. We anticipate a significant increase in contractor flight crews over the next five years, with roles expected to commence in 2026 (subject to change).
The Person
We are seeking applicants with the following qualifications:
- A minimum of 250 hours of military flying experience as a Sensor Operator or Weapons Systems Officer (crewed and uncrewed).
- A recognised instructor qualification.
- Experience with Medium Altitude Long Endurance (MALE) RPAS operations, specifically MQ-1, MQ-9A, MQ-9B, or similar.
Conversion training on the MQ-9B will be provided if necessary. Upon qualification, you will deliver instruction to crews on flying and operating the MQ-9B aircraft at RAF Waddington.
The core working week is Monday to Friday (40 hours), adhering to the UK Working Time Directive. Some shift work will be required to maintain operational effectiveness. This position offers opportunities for deployment across Europe, supporting NATO alliance partners' MQ-9B training initiatives.
Employment is contingent upon passing a CAA/FAA Class 1 Medical or an equivalent European Aviation Safety Agency medical. A relocation package will be offered to assist individuals relocating to the UK.
