About the Company

We are a dynamic and innovative defence technology company, recognised for designing, developing, and delivering advanced defence training, products, and services. Our commitment to excellence has been acknowledged with numerous accolades, including 'Employer of the Year' at the British Ex-Forces in Business Awards 2023, multiple listings in the '100 Best Large Companies to Work For' in the UK and Midlands, and two Queen’s Awards for Enterprise in Innovation. We foster a friendly and collaborative environment within our modern head office near Lincoln, where our experienced team embodies a mature and proactive work ethic.

The Role

As our success and growth continue, we are seeking a skilled Aircrew Instructor to join our team. You will be instrumental in delivering basic and intermediate operationally focused ISR training to aircrew from the Belgian Défense Force. This role is UK-based, with significant travel to mainland Belgium and other European hubs as required by the customer. The position involves approximately 16-20 weeks of overseas training annually.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing high-quality training material, directed by the customer’s Training Needs Analysis, to ensure immediate frontline impact.
  • Training, coaching, and mentoring current serving Belgian Défense personnel to achieve full competence and capability for frontline ISR operations.
  • Collaborating within a joint Trials and Training Team to ensure effective ITEAP planning and execution by Belgian Défense personnel, generating requisite reports.
  • Providing clear and considered operational advice to the customer on platform capabilities, mission requirements, human factors, and OEM feedback.
  • Executing training as either an instructor or exercise support to maximise trainee benefit.

All necessary formal training will be provided, and Inzpire covers all travel and subsistence, with an overseas allowance provided in line with UK government rates.

The Person

We are looking for a highly experienced, qualified, and proactive individual with a 'can-do' attitude, capable of working with minimal supervision in small, integrated teams. Exceptional communication skills, strong organisation, and a willingness to contribute ideas are essential. You must be able to seamlessly integrate into established teams and be willing to work abroad.

Required experience and skills include:

  • Significant demonstrable operational ISR experience as a sensor operator on manned or unmanned platforms (typically 5+ years).
  • SC minimum security clearance.
  • Ability to hold a flying category and be fit for flying related duties.
  • A valid UK passport with a minimum of 12 months' expiry.

Highly desirable experience includes:

  • Aircrew Instructor qualified (B1 minimum) with ISR environment experience.
  • Experience in interpreting Training Needs Analysis and generating training content.
  • Operational Test and Evaluation experience.
  • Familiarity with computer and simulation hardware, the ‘4Ts’ planning process, and Unit Flying Standards.

Due to the nature of the role, you must be a UK National, and National Security Vetting may be required, normally necessitating a minimum of 5 years' UK residency.

Benefits

Our comprehensive benefits package includes:

  • 30 days paid holiday plus 8 bank holidays.
  • Uncapped leave scheme (post-probation).
  • Company-provided private medical and dental insurance.
  • Company Share Incentive Scheme.
  • Enhanced maternity and paternity pay.
  • Annual profit and performance-related pay.
  • Generous death in service benefit (£100k).
  • Company contributions to a group personal pension.
  • Business travel insurance.
  • Funded role-specific training and professional development assistance.
  • Tax-efficient cycle to work, charitable giving, and electric vehicle schemes.

Our selection decisions are merit-based, irrespective of race, colour, religion, gender, age, sexual orientation, marital status, or disability.
