BAE Systems is seeking an IT Application Support professional to join their team in Preston. In this role, you will be instrumental in building and supporting platforms that enable effective service operations, with a specific focus on the HR Portfolio. Your work will directly impact business processes by ensuring the design, build, and support processes effectively deliver essential business services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end support for HR Portfolio applications, collaborating with vendors and stakeholders to resolve operational issues.
- Maintain the cyber security posture of applications through regular assurance and governance reviews.
- Engage in major incident management, driving service restoration and root cause remediation.
- Utilize and maintain deployment systems, such as ServiceNow, to support regular updates and hotfixes across multiple platforms.
- Partner with Administrators, Developers, and Product Owners to achieve the technology vision, strategy, and enhance end-user functionality.
- Create and document Service Operations procedures for IT activities to ensure optimal uptime and achieve Service Level Agreement (SLA) targets.
Role Specifics:
This role participates in a rota that provides support across multiple time zones. As part of this arrangement, you may be required to work Sunday to Thursday, 6:00am to 2:00pm (UK time) on a rota basis. Occasional support outside of normal working hours may be necessary to ensure service continuity and support business-critical applications.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Experience in enterprise application support and administration, including technologies such as Active Directory, ServiceNow, or equivalent platforms.
- Relevant experience of using IT frameworks, such as ITIL or CompTIA.
- Awareness of Cyber Accreditations used in enterprises, such as ISO27001 or Cyber Essentials / Cyber Essentials+.
- Experience working with provisioning partners to deliver a unified service.
- Awareness of Agile/Release principles and their application in managing products.
