About the Role
As a Lead Automotive Electronics Engineer at our Walsall site, you will play a crucial role in designing technology that protects lives. This is a hands-on position where automotive engineering and electronics converge, offering the opportunity to work across the full lifecycle of systems, from integration through to testing and fault resolution. Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Design and integrate vehicle electronic systems, including power distribution, control units, communications, and sensors.
- Test electronic systems in laboratory settings and on completed vehicles to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Diagnose faults, resolve technical issues, and enhance overall system performance.
- Produce clear and comprehensive technical documentation, ensuring systems comply with regulatory, safety, and military standards.
- Collaborate effectively with engineers, technicians, and wider teams to deliver successful vehicle solutions.
Working Hours and Location
This role is based onsite at Walsall, West Midlands. Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, with an early finish on Fridays, totalling 39 hours per week. Overtime opportunities are also available.
Essential Experience
- Time-served experience in automotive electronics, electrical, or electronic engineering.
- Proven experience working as an automotive or electronic technician.
- A strong automotive technical background or hands-on vehicle electronics experience.
- Demonstrated capability in power, control, and electronic systems.
- Experience in fault finding and supporting system integration activities.

Security Clearance
